Crude Zinc Ash

Zinc ash is by product that arises during the zinc production process and is generated during zinc melting or refining operations.

Features :

  • Density : It is a high density material and varies depending on the zinc content.
  • Chemical Composition : Zinc ash contains a large proportion of zinc oxide (ZnO). Oxides of lead (Pb), cadmium (Cd), iron (Fe), copper (Cu) and other metals may also be present.

Areas of Use :

  • Recycling : Zinc ash can be reprocessed to recover the zinc and other metals it contains. This is usually accomplished by hydrometallurgical or pyrometallurgical methods.
  • Cement and Construction: Zinc ash can be used in cement production or as an additive in construction materials after certain processes.
  • Chemical Industry : Zinc oxide and other metal oxides can be used as raw materials in the production of various chemical products.
